Parents and teachers have the most important job in the world. Teaching our young children how to develop their own values and belief system is the largest legacy we can leave them. When I think of all of the important character traits; honesty, respect, responsibility, compassion, generosity and so many others, KINDNESS is one of the easiest to teach.
Kindness is a behavior of treating others in a pleasant nice way. Before we can teach the meaning of being kind to children, we need to all examine our own actions and behavior. Are you treating everyone you meet and come in contact with kind? I don’t mean once in a while, I mean every person to person interaction you have on a daily basis. Our examples are what little eyes and ears witness.
Children need to hear the word kind and understand the meaning. Teach children that we treat others the way we want to be treated ourselves, with kindness. Practice random acts of kindness as a family. Need help? Go to Pinterest-Teach Kindness with the help of Mrs. Good Choice. You will find many great ideas to help you.
